If you are an avid tea drinker, we think that you are going to want to switch to loose leaf tea. The thing about drinking tea out of a tea bag is that while you may think you are getting some great flavor, you are getting only a tenth of the experience that you could have with loose leaves. Not only are loose leaves the best quality parts of a tea leaf, as compared to the crushed up bits they dump into tea bags, but they will have no preservatives or chemicals that are added to keep them on the shelves indefinitely.
Another aspect with loose leaf tea is the sheer taste that you are getting. Why does this make such a difference? Because in order to truly give you great flavor, tea leaves need to expand. If they are not expanding, it means you are not getting much out of your tea. You are getting some flavor, but not very much. And if you squeeze on a tea bag, you are just getting bitterness and tea dust into your cup. In contrast, those loose leaves are going to unfurl in your cup and you will have something wonderful to drink.
You may be worried about cost or convenience, but these are not even issues with loose leaf tea. The cost is the same as tea bags, especially if you use online vendors. And in terms of convenience, all you need is a tea strainer or a pot that has a strainer built into the pouring structure, and you are good to go. Add your leaves, brew until it is done, and then pour the tea out into cups. The leaves are in the pot or your glass, and you can even use them again if you want! That is the beauty of loose leaf tea.
